At 24 years old im very proud if where my younger sister is at in her life. Lost dad at 10 years old and in her teenage years delt with our drug addict mom in the most CRUCIAL years of her life and she has STILL managed to come out better than a lot of people I know who had it much easier than her. Went back for her GED, been in college for 1-2 years now, has held a respectable job for 6~ years, all while having practically no parents, and a 4 year old daughter with a deadbeat father. Just goes to show you are not what you are born into, we all have choices to make and sometimes it may take some of us more time to fully figure things out ON OUR OWN, but if you want it bad enough you can succeed in anything you do. Our relationship could be a lot better than it is right now, but I believe everything happens for a reason and in due time we will be a lot closer.
