Ethan experience. Wow, what a day. Just wow.

One of the most gratifying experiences in my life happened yesterday. I was 1 mile from my aunts house just stopping by. I saw this young cat walking on the off ramp & passed him. I thought to myself "damn, I want to give him a ride." But I passed him. A red light came & I said if he gets closer, & nobody comes behind me, the light doesn't turn green quickly, I'll backup & offer. It's what happened. He was vey excited. I asked where he wanted to go. He gave me a street in severna park, about 40mins out of my way. I didn't mind, I drove. 10 mins in he asked if I was going this way, I said nah, just helping you. He was shocked. We got to talking & he was a 22 year old who had been through the foster system all his life. He was so genuine. He had manners, soft spoken. I have an affinity for people who have been through some shyt & that is an understatement with him. We arrived to glen burnie area & I dropped him off in a shopping center. I saw a subway & offered a sub. We ate a sub, talked more. He constantly talked about how dirty he was, he said he had not taken a shower in weeks that his older brothers(not related) place had a shower. So i offered him clothes from my car. Some of which were brand new, I had not even wore them. I gave him shirts, boxers, socks. I offered jeans & shoes but he said he didn't need them his were in good shape. He only accepted what he needed. Our time was coming to an end. I gave him all the money in my wallet, & my business card. Told him I may not be able to help every time, but if your ever in a situation, hit me up & I'll see what I can do. He immediately started takin pics of the card just in case he lost it. His name was Ethan. I attribute this giving experience to a date I had a few weeks ago. She opened my eyes. This woman was so compassionate to strangers & made and impact with me. I saw something in this kids eyes He's going to make something of himself one day. This could have easily been a "5 min ride down the street, thank you". I don't say any of this for praise. Just keep an open mind next time you see someone walking on the side of the road #payitforward #gratitude #generosity
