being a whole hearted person

definition of spirituality is living a open whole hearted life.

1.cultivating authenticity- letting go of what people think

authenticity is a practice, and you choose it everyday, sometimes every hour of everyday. you dont wake up every day and just say “hey im authentic”. are you going to show up and let yourself truly be seen? its a choice to be seen. to be authentic you have to let go of ‘faking it’- fake laughter, fake smiles etc. trying to feel/pretending to feel  comfortable around other people when you are really uncomfortable. you will end up losing your own authenticity. most people do this.

  1. cultivating self compassion- letting go of perfectionism

perfectionism- what emerged from the data- perfectionism is not about striving for excellence, or healthy striving which is very good to have in our lives. its a cognitive behavioral process, a way of thinking and feeling that says this- if I look perfect, do it perfect, work perfect and live perfect I can avoid or minimize SHAME, BLAME, AND JUDGEMENT.

perfectionism is the ultimate fear that the world will see what they truly are, and that they wont measure up. This is a brutal way to live. its very different from trying to be excellent and working hard and doing your best.

perfectionism- the 20-10 shield. we carry it around thinking its going to protect us from being hurt, but it protects us from being seen. striving for a world that doesnt exist.

there’s no such thing beyond judgement.
